updates on SL5B

  1. Historically speaking, I have a habit of putting my foot in my mouth when interviewed- since I’d really prefer not to inflame an already touchy subject, I’m afraid I’ll have to decline any requests for interviews regarding SL5B. However, I will offer clarification after an article has been published (as I have done for the Massively.com articles)
  2. Prior to my stepping down as organiser of SL5B, I wasn’t going to make an exhibit myself. I’m still not going to apply, but for different reasons. Before, it was due to an ethical concern regarding favouritism. Now, it is for the same reasons I stepped down- I don’t want to be seen to support Linden Lab in their decision to exclude exhibitors from the event.
  3. While I find the reasoning behind Linden Lab’s changes to SL5B to be sound (not wanting to risk Second Life being shut down), the manner in which they were presented or enacted is what I took issue at.
  4. I am still providing my technical expertise (aka “geek-fu”) to the Residents involved with SL5B, as they are my friends.
  5. I have offered the same geek-fu to the Kids5B group, and will do the same for any other event that asks for my assistance.
