Personally, I don't think it'd be an appropriate use of media streaming to pipe external MP3/Ogg Vorbis audio outside it's existing channel unless the playing field was levelled to allow script-triggered sounds to be made omnipresent and media/music to be made spacial it won't be as fun.

Think along the lines of being able to have a script declare an object as being the spacial source for individual audio channels in a media/music stream, i.e. creating a pair of speaker objects, setting one to left channel, and the other to the right channel. This would likely improve immersion in a variety of scenarios: having your in-world TV hooked up to a virtual 5.1 surround sound system so you could practice placing the speakers before shifting furniture around your own home, or club having the speaker cabinets set as the spacial source so those wanting to use voice chat on the public parcel could congregate away from the speakers (similar to how one might behave in a physical club).

Would be nice--and probably easy to reuse existing code--to assign a parcel media URL to the Ambient channel.

I did discover a bug with large numbers of error events not firing in FF https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=539982

reset.css is a copy of Eric Meyer's <a href="http://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/css/reset/" rel="nofollow">Reset CSS</a>.

If the images aren't 24x24, make sure to alter the style rules for .tweeters li and .tweeters .not-loaded

Hi

I've tried the script with jQuery but the result under FF 3.5 are rather surprising. I can email you a picture but basically the ALT text are immediately displayed and they are overlapping. Then the images start to appear, and, if the image is not 24x24, it is NOT enforced.

Suggestions? I probably have done something wrong... I have NOT imported the href="http://static.marvulous.co.uk/%C2%B5/css/reset.css" but the rest in the as per example...

Thanks

I've added some modifications to the CSS to make things work under IE6, let me know if things work on your IE6 machine as I'm running it via multi-IE :-P

Very interesting post. I will try it but I can say that the demo page under IE 6 looks quite bad and cascading... (I know "IE6 must die" and all that...)

I'll try to check it at home (where I have a proper browser!)
